At mrsmeyers Retail, we are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience of our website, mrsmeyersell.shop (the “Site”), for everyone and applying relevant accessibility standards to make our content accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of circumstance and ability.

1. Our Accessibility Approach

mrsmeyers Retail strives to design, develop, and maintain the Site in conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA success criteria, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 AA provides a globally recognized set of recommendations for making web content more accessible for people with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

Our ongoing accessibility efforts include, where reasonable and feasible:

  • Providing meaningful text alternatives (“alt text”) for all meaningful images, icons, and non-text content so that they can be read by screen readers.
  • Ensuring sufficient color contrast between foreground text and background colors across the Site.
  • Supporting full keyboard navigation — all interactive elements (links, buttons, form fields) are reachable and operable via keyboard without a mouse.
  • Using descriptive, programmatic labels for form fields, buttons, and interactive components.
  • Structuring content with semantic headings (H1, H2, H3, etc.) to help assistive technology users navigate and understand document structure.
  • Designing responsive layouts that do not require horizontal scrolling on common screen sizes and that preserve readability when users enlarge text.
  • Avoiding content that flashes or flickers at rates known to trigger seizures or physical reactions.
  • Ensuring page functionality and content remains available when JavaScript is disabled (where possible and consistent with checkout and security needs).
  • Providing skip-navigation links so keyboard users can bypass repeated page elements.
  • Labeling embedded videos and media files with captions or transcripts where available.

2. Testing & Validation

mrsmeyers Retail evaluates the Site’s accessibility through a combination of:

  • Automated testing using industry-standard accessibility scanning tools to detect common technical issues on a regular basis.
  • Manual code review of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript against WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria, performed by our development team.
  • Real-user testing with keyboard-only navigation and screen readers (e.g., NVDA, VoiceOver) where possible.

While we work hard to conform to WCAG 2.1 AA, some areas of the Site may still present accessibility challenges — particularly third-party integrations (payment gateways, embedded videos, customer review widgets, shipping calculators) that are developed, hosted, and maintained by external providers. Where we identify a gap, we work with those providers to address it, and where gaps remain, we offer alternative methods for accessing the information or completing the task (see Section 4 below).

3. Compatibility with Assistive Technology

We aim to maintain broad compatibility with commonly used assistive technologies, including but not limited to:

  • Screen readers (NVDA on Windows, VoiceOver on macOS/iOS, JAWS, TalkBack on Android).
  • Screen magnification software (ZoomText, Windows Magnifier, built-in browser zoom).
  • Voice recognition and speech-to-text tools (Dragon NaturallySpeaking, built-in voice control).
  • Alternative input devices (switch devices, trackballs, adaptive keyboards).

We recommend keeping your browser and assistive technology software up to date for the best experience. The Site is tested against the latest two stable versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge).
